What do you do when an upgrade fails when using SMF?

Hi,

No the database is fine.  What happened is that I tried to run the upgrade feature but the software would not upgrade.  So I am left with the older version.  Any ideas?

Where did you use the upgrade feature? I mean from where?? Did you install SMF using Fantastico? If its the case, then you must have deleted the fantastico-filelist.txt or something like that. Try manually upgrading it.

Please make a backup of the DB

SMF has an upgrade feature within the admin console.

Try uninstalling any mods you might have installed and upgrading again.  Otherwise, take the steps outlines on the SMF website to perform a manual upgrade.

I have just upgraded my smf from 1.3 to 1.4 and there was no problem. Even I have many mods installed with that but everything went fine.
