Hi,
I visited a site that had Joomla and Simple Machines all wrapped into one. I was like, YEAH! This is what I want Smiley.

I got my Joomla and SM codes all set up and then I went and downloaded a hack that was supposed to bridge them together (somehow) and I winded up screwing up the whole website! I was so frustrated after working three days on this beauty.  I deleted everyting and wiped the sweat from my brow and said forget IT!

I would like to say that I really like the look of the Simple Macines code with Joomla stuck into it.  What do you think? (I might try it again, my wounds have almost healed)

Hi all,
Visit smf site again. I have read last night on smf site that they discontinue smf with Joomla. I am about to start a link directory which would be in Joomla board but thinking about forum setup now.

Why you are setting up a directory in Joomla? I think PHPLD is much better and easy to deploy because it is typically made for directory structure.

I think there is no issue regarding smf and Joomla and both are the best pair for a internet presence. I am not sure but there might be some integrated packages which can offer both simultaneously.

SMF is used on the main Joomla site which is a very busy site so the integration is there and robust.

Another reason why you should always make backup copies of your site before messing with it Smiley
