I have noticed that on some of the phpBB themes (such as Nosebleed) the users can only enter up to 6 characters in the captcha field. The captcha picture can have more than 6 digits, though. This means that when trying to register, many users will not be able to pass the captcha.

Does anyone know why this happens?

More importantly, does anyone know how to fix it?
