depends on your definition of "intellectuals".  online, anyone who can compose a line and a half of poorly weighted iambic pentameter or a multi-clause sentence suddenly becomes an intellectual

i used to visit an Oxford University debating board that seemed fun and it looked like it attracted what might be considered intellectuals.  i'll see whether I can find the url. 

I think forums can do nothing alone and these are people who make some forum very special. I think a good forum almost has everything in it and a group of intellectual people can make it an intellectual forum as well.
