If you could choose 2 SEO aspects, which ones would be the most important ones for you?

for me:

1: inbound links with a good anchor text
2: internal linking

What are your 2 most important ones?

For forums, I think the most important is making search engine friendly URLs. Many forum softwares use session IDs for guests by default. When you have those, search engines cannot spider your forum much at all, because all the URLs have random session IDs attached.

After that, I would have to say inbound links.

Everything previously said I agree with.  I will add these:

1) Use alt tag on all of your images

2) W3 validate your site

3) I will say it again - incoming anchor text
