Through experience with spammers on my own forums, I have found that the best technique to getting rid of the annoying posters easily is by this mod to SMF:

This modification will block guests from posting a URL on the forums. After I added this, no more spam. Works like a charm!

Why would anyone allow guests to post in forums? I think you allow only members to post on forums? Weird ?
Or is it for members having limited number of posts. There is one forums I visit has limited the url posting till the member has 25 posts.

Yeah... Allowing guests to post in forums is pretty retarded.
It's just inviting spammers to join in on the fun.
