Has anyone ever attempted to hack or attack your forum? If so, what happened?
Luckily, my forum has not been hacked or attacked. The only problem I have is spammers.

I have not been defaced or cracked either, thankfully. I apply security patches on all my forums religiously. It seems to be those that fall behind on their security patches that get defaced by automated attacks. Spammers are the scourge of every forum admin  Which forum package are you using? If you get a lot of spam then I will take a guess that you use phpbb?  |

I've never been hacked, but have been DDosed several times. Every time it has been by someone who got ticked off on the forum, either by the politics or because I banned them *rolls eyes*.

I've never had a hacked or spammed forum.
I use a bunch of mods and regularly update them as well, so it seems to run very well.

I have never been hacked. I am not sure if anyone has ever tried to hack me. I hope not, though.

Been hacked once and I think it was through one of the 3rd party mods I installed. It allowed them to upload an index.html, so they could redirect my blog. Thankfully an update came out for the addon, so I was hack free after that  |

I've been hacked once, the site was down for a couple of days. My host had luckily backed up the forum a couple days ago so I was able to re-make the forum with only a few posts missing.

My forum got cracked 4 times, 2 of those time i manged to crack it back.
Best thing i can say is have really strong passwords with things like !^%# in it.

I think hacking is the worst type of action which someone can take against you and there is no way out. All of your data will be lost if you wouldn't have backup. I have been hacked once but fortunately I had backup. I had to set it up again through my host.
