If you use myspace and try to send messages to others and to use your bulletin as a way to advertise do you think this gets annoying to others.  I get unsolicited messages from people and it does sometimes bug me.  I wouldn't want to do that to others.

Yes, I agree with you to a certain extent.  I tend ignore most MySpace bulletins, particularly those from people with whom I am not in at least occasional contact.  The daily spam bulletins from the same people go straight to the bit bucket.

Instead of buying a single bulletin to a friend list of, say, 40K people, I think it might be more productive to send a bulletin to 200 friends with whom you are in regular contact and ask them to send it on to their friends.  Your amount of exposure will then cascade among good quality contacts (people who are in frequent contact with their friend list members) instead of the lower quality high-number friend lists who in all likelihood never look at bulletins.  Does that make sense ? I think it depends what you are promoting. If you are promoting something worth their time that they are probably interested in, then it's fine. However, if you are promoting x-rated material or get-rich-quick-schemes, then I hope your account gets terminated.

Yes if this method was sone properly I think it could gain results.  You would work to promote your forum or whatever by promoting to your friends and they to their friends rather than sending it to everyone and their brother in a bulletin.

I am wondering that how much traffic someone can get from this. I think this is not an appropriate method to get some traffic. We should try some other methods or some more efficient ways to get traffic.

I personally don't really think this helps you get much more traffic. I have a myspace and am on it quite often and have came to point where I completely ignore bullitins. 75% of them are advertising and most of them are stupid scams saying you can make a million dollars in a week without doing a thing.

I agree with you. I stopped reading my bulletins a while ago as well because my friends have had their accounts hacked and when you go to click on the bulletins you have to change your username and password because you have been hacked too.

I don't think this would be the best method of advertising although it is cheap. Like the saying goes...you get what you pay for.  Wink
