With no money to use for marketing, how long does it take to get 1,000 unique visitors a day? How long does it take to get 10,000 unique visitors a day? My goal is to get 15,000 unique visitors per day, but it seems so far off.

How much do you think you can build your daily traffic through free marketing per week?

How long will it take to get 10 active members? How long will it take to get 20 active members?

There is no magic number to say for sure.  It depends upon the free marketing methods you use and how much time  you devote to promoting your forum.  It also depends upon the theme of your forum (topics covered) and how interested people are in the forum.  You need to work on all these factors to gain success.

Well, say I put 5 hours a day towards promoting. And, I did article writing, forum posting, and blog commenting for the whole 5 hours. How much and at what rate do you expect my daily traffic would increase?

There are no limits for this. Some forums can take many months and some can be boosted in a few time. It depends on the niche of forum. If you are not going to spend money on this then you will have to work very hard.

Yeah, it really depends on the topics covered on your forum.
I have a friend that is completely new to web development and whatnot, but he was able to start a very active forum which gets quite a lot of uniques per day. And he got that far in less than a month o.O

There is no set amount of time, it depends on the conditions, including these:

Forum Niche
Advertising Time
Advertising Methods
Money
Getting Friends to Post
More

My forum at www.computalk.net is about 3-4 months old and has around 5000 posts now and over 100 members.

There is no possible way to give you an exact time. It's nearly impossible to even give you an estimate. There are so many factors that could make this take a week to 5 years.

Thanks, Ty
