It's been a little while since I posted a forum building tip, so here goes.

This method best applies to forums whose topic or content might be considered newsworthy at some level (for instance a political or current affairs forum or a sports forum or even an automotive forum.)

Often, articles and editorials on news sites answer some underlying question of seek to make a point or raise an issue.  As a forum mod/owners/poster you can use such articles and reverse the thinking.  So, you'd find a series of articles on recent and/or popular topics within your niche at sites such as

news.google.com
news.yahoo.com
newsnow.co.uk

or some other headline feed site.  Read over the articles and pluck the essential points from them, rolling them in to a concise forum post.  Remember never to take content verbatim.  Re-write the material and add your own perspective if possible.  Also, ensure you use a succinct and keyword-rich post title.

If you can manage 10+ such posts per day you should see a steady rise in targeted SE traffic within weeks.

With the speed at which Google seems to index pages these days, I can see that this would work very well on and news related forum. Thanks for the tip!
