Most new forums ALWAYS have a contest to start things up, but usually they are always the same thing..

"Most posts wins"
"Most Referrals win"

etc, what would you say is the best GENERAL Contest(That means if you are running a graphics forum, the contest cant be Best Graphic, When I say general, i mean one that would work for any forum) ?

Just looking for some good ideas when I start my forum, I plan on starting out with a couple of contests...

i have seen "best quality posts" as adjudged by the moderators and on a support forum "most helpful poster" again as adjudged by the mods - these are little subjective, but good idea i think.

I think we should divide winning money to couple of posters or designers or what it would be. It is not good if someone get nothing due to difference of one post count.

I say a quality posts contest. Most post contests are the absolute worst thing you can do. All this causes is problems.
